Symposium Agenda
-
Learn how SCCRA became the association it is today, starting with the merge between separate voice and steno associations over two decades ago. Learn about the history of the certification efforts in SC, the voluntary certification program, and explore creative ideas for the future of this endeavor.
We will delve into the structure of the association, suggest opportunities for member involvement and growth, and discuss the recent merge with the officials after their association disbanded.
We will discuss developing new bylaws, a code of ethics modeled after NCRA and NVRA, and ways to educate nonmember reporters and attorneys around the state about the importance of accountable court reporters.
We will end with an eye toward the future by discussing the digital/AI reporting already happening in the state.
-
Learn how to prepare a cleaner transcript in less production time. Hear how Deidre addresses issues with accessibility and disability and how preparing saves her time and frustration.
-
Building a team of scopists or proofreaders can make or break your busy workload, and navigating the constellation of options can seem daunting. Amanda and Katie will explain the differences between a scopist and proofreader and walk you through finding and hiring the best fit. They'll also share shortcuts and tools to make your process more efficient, whether you work with a team or do the heavy work yourself.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
